Axe Kick (踵落とし 両側)

Axe Kick - Both Sides in Karate

The Axe Kick - Both Sides is a karate kicking technique where you quickly lift your leg straight up and strike downward with the heel of your foot. Training both sides ensures balanced kick mechanics and control.

To execute the kick correctly, maintain a stable supporting leg throughout the movement. After impact, rapidly retract your leg and recover directly back to your guard position.

This kick is used during sparring to disrupt your opponent's timing by adjusting your movement rhythm. Precision and immediate retraction after impact help strike targets while avoiding potential counterattacks.
